Re-Generation

Re-Generation is a reflection of my early exploration into fashion design, rooted in a deep commitment to sustainability, repurposing, and the expressive power of clothing. Created in 2020, this project marks a formative moment where design and environmental consciousness began to fully merge in my creative practice.

The concept behind Re-Generation was to take ordinary, often discarded garments and reimagine them into empowering, elevated ensembles. Inspired by the values of Gen Z—a generation highly attuned to the environmental impact of consumption—I set out to deconstruct fast fashion’s narrative by giving pre-existing clothing a second life. Thrifting and upcycling aren't just trends; they’re tools for change. They allow us to reframe the fashion system and challenge the idea that beauty and innovation require newness.

Throughout the construction process, I played with proportion, volume, and balance, using a neutral color palette to let form and texture take center stage. I explored how altering scale, integrating unexpected materials, and manipulating silhouettes could create harmony between concept and wearability. Each look in the collection reflects the belief that sustainable fashion can be both artistic and accessible.

The garments serve as a statement: what is considered "waste" can be reassembled into something transformative. I wanted the wearer to feel not only confident and expressive, but also part of a larger narrative—one where fashion becomes a medium for regeneration and responsibility.

Re-Generation helped define my early voice as a designer. It taught me that fashion can be a force for reimagining systems, identities, and futures. Through this project, I began to understand that clothing has the power to inspire—not just through aesthetics, but through intention, values, and the stories we choose to tell with what we wear.
